SHANDA BEATY: One of my closet friends and my "touring" buddy. We saw a great deal of shows, endured crap food, rude hotel personnel, sleeping in cars, hours in line on hard pavement, bad weather, horrible porta-potties (ick)... and would not have traded a moment of it. We had a lot of fun. I was glad to share that with you.

CLARISSE VARNAU: Thanks to you, your ingenuity, and at times -- your Visa Card -- I was able to see more shows (GA shows!) than my own Propaganda tickets would provide. Both Phoenix shows were amazing. "In Gods' Country" on Leg #3 -- hell yeah!

GABRIELLA JANNI: Who I met on the 3rd leg of the tour. Thank you for being loving, kind, sweet... and calling me during MYSTERIOUS WAYS & IN GOD'S COUNTRY tonight (12/02/2001) in Miami during closing night of the Elevation 2001 show! I love you so much for that! You have NO idea how much that getting to hear those tow songs and feeling slightly a part of closing night meant to me. You are so great and I hope to know you for a very long time. We have to hang out, and soon! Now back to Standford and finish your paper that is over due!

HAYLEY CORISTINE: Sweet, funny and great to hug - when you are cold or just because you are such a great person. I loved our trip to the "bowels" of downtown LA to the MILLION DOLLAR HOTEL. We WILL go back-we will get our pictures next the MDH sign on the roof! You shall have to visit Los Angeles again or I will visit Montreal. You are a wonderful person, great fan and fun to spend time with. And in conjunction with Gabriella and Dawn... you kept the Oakland line (and many others) from becoming... you guessed it, a CLUSTER F*CK like San Diego was.

And to DAWN: Keeper of the line-sharpie in hand-Sleep!!!! What is that? May life turn a little more normal for you soon. May you sleep and not have GA line nightmares. I had a great time with you. I value your friendship and I am eternally happy that you kept the line in order in Oakland. Find me, we shall have to get web cams and practice Edge's guitar parts together!

JULIA SERGO: While we did not get to share the tour experience together this time, we must next time. Thanks for being a good friend to me and sharing in the U2 experience. Listening to all my stories about all of the shows we went to. I am only sorry that you were not there with us each night to share in the fun that was ELEVATION 2001. Maybe we will share a few shows on the next tour? I will even go all the way to Cleveland. =-)

RHONDA (aka: SISTER MOFO): "SHE WORE LEMON..." If memory serves me, we first met in San Diego? I know that you wre at pretty much EVERY show that Shanda and I attended - and then some! THANKS for being so friendly to Shanda and I, for sharing time in the lines and at the tip of the heart with us. You are a great person and Shanda and I adore you. Lemon garlands, signs and boxing nun puppet... you are the "goods"! Sorry it took so long to get the French "Stuck In A Moment" single to you.

JANET & RHONDDA: We met these two lovely ladies in San Jose and saw them at EVERY Northern CA show. You were both friendly, caring, funny, great to spend soooo much time sitting and chatting with. Janet: You and me and blankie make 3! Thanks for helping me not freeze in the San Jose GA line on day #2. I look forward to seeing you and Rhondda again soon. Perhaps another show-even by another great band that might not be U2? Time will tell... see you then. Cheers! Don't be a stranger...

WALTER & STEVE: Thanks for being so fun to hang out with. Your kindness, friendship and NON-STOP comedy made our Morthern CA shows a great deal of fun. I think I can speak for myself and Shanda by saying that you and we hope to see you both again very soon.

There was this really cool, friendly, sweet and VERY prepared asian girl that was next to us in the GA lines in San Jose AND Oakland. Wherever you are - Thank you. This girl had enough food and drinks to feed the whole line! She was kind enough to offer sodas, chips, candy, cookies, sandwiches, games galore to play, magazines... She was making DRINKS in the GA line-mixing them-cutting up limes and all in the GA line in Oakland. Talk about a MINI-Bar. If I am ever snowed in anywhere... I want to be with you. You were so sweet and great fun talk to and VERY prepared.

TODD (From Fillmore Security): Thank buddy for taking great care of us at the Northern CA shows. You're a great guy. Fun, funny and wonderful. You kept us safe, you kept us laughing! Thank for the water.

SCOTT NICHOLS, JERRY MELTZER & JOHN SAMPSON: thanks for being so nice to all of us at the shows. Thanks for water and making the tour a great time for everyone.

DALLAS!!!!!!!! That is Mr. Schoo to the rest of you!: Thanks for the pic in Oakland. Glad you enjoyed all of the signs and the the shirts I made... etc. Sorry I was not able to be in Sacramento for yor birthday show. You are a great guy and without your sense of perfection our boy Edge couldn't make all of those wonderful sounds for us. For that, I thank you. "SCHOO 2: Close to the Edge Tour 2001!"

And last but hardly least: U2!!!!! (ADAM, BONO, LARRY & THE EDGE). Thank you for performing great shows everynight. Thank you so much. Your music touches us all deeply, every face you saw along the tour. And many more you might not have seen. While some of us wonder if our jobs are appreciated, know that your job is more than appreciated. You make music that matters... and that is a pretty darn good thing to do. Keep up the great work, get some rest and lets do it all again real soon!
